Overview
Learn how you can use your school’s mentoring platform to give back and maximize your participation in the community!
Create your account
Setting up your account is quick and easy! Once you do so, you'll be able to network, become a mentor, participate in group discussions, and much more!
How to set up your account:
- Go to your organization's homepage.
- Click the "Join Our Community" button.
- Select a signup method (ex. LinkedIn, Email, SSO)
- Choose your User Type (ex. "Alumna," "Alum," "Alumni," "Mentor.")
- Fill out your background info. (If a mentor, indicate your availability.)
- Sign the Code of Conduct.
You may need to wait for an admin to approve your account. If that's the case, you’ll receive an email once your account has been approved.
Signup FAQs:
- I seem to have a duplicate account...what do I do?
- I'm having trouble connecting LinkedIn - help!
- I connected LinkedIn, but not all my info is transferring. Why?
- Why do you ask for so many LinkedIn permissions? I don't want to give you access to my account!
- How do I verify my email during signup?
- I'm stuck in signup and I don't know why!
- How long do I have to wait for account approval?
Post-Signup Action Items
1. Make your first connection!
Go to the Explore the Community tab and find someone you'd like to connect with!
- Browse network Scroll through profiles or use the search and filter bar on the right to narrow your search.
- Reach out - When you've found someone to connect with, click the green "Let's Connect" button to send a message or request a meeting.
- Check your inbox - We'll send you an email notification when your connection responds to your message/meeting request. You can also sign up for SMS (text) notifications.
Note - depending on how your platform is set up, you may not be able to initiate connections through the platform. If that's the case, you'll need to wait for mentees to reach out to you or for your admins to match you with a mentee. See Waiting for mentees to reach out? below.
2. Waiting for mentees to reach out?
While you're waiting for mentees to reach out or to be matched, there are some things you can do to strengthen your profile:
- Sync your calendar to make scheduling meetings easy
- Fine-tune your profile based on how it appears to others
- When a mentee reaches out…
3. Share a job opportunity!
Do you know of a great opportunity opening up at your organization that you want to share with your school's community? Or are you a recruiter looking for some amazing candidates? Share the role on the Opportunities page / Job Board!

Explore the Community
Note - this may not be available, depending on your site's settings
You'll be able to browse through profiles of other community members. If you see someone you'd like to connect with, click the "Let's Connect" button to send them a message or schedule a meeting!

Join a Long-Term Mentoring Program
Note - this may not be available, depending on your site's settings
Interested in being a mentor? Join a long-term mentoring program to be matched with a mentee for a long-term (usually a few months), structured mentorship.

Share your knowledge with your community! Help others out, or ask a question yourself.

Register for Upcoming Events
Find and register for upcoming events in your community! This is a great way to network with fellow alums and stay part of the community long after graduation.
Join a Group
Groups allow you to connect with others who share your interests. They're typically communities focused on particular topics or interest areas, such as "Women in Tech" or "Digital Design."
You can join a group to access select resources, network with members, and participate in group discussions!
Browse, Apply to, and Share Job Opportunities
The Opportunities page features job posts shared by other community members. Browse through existing posts - if you find one that seems relevant to you, you can apply!
You can also share job opportunities by creating new posts.
